Chrysler 200's Usual Anti-Theft Code Scenarios
Many owners encounter radio code issues on their 200 after battery-related issues.
Below are the most typical situations when this can occur.
Radio Lock After Battery Replacement
When the battery is replaced, the Chrysler 200 radio enters anti-theft mode.
This factory protection system is designed to protect the original head unit by disabling the radio after electrical reset.
Additional Scenarios Where Radio Requires a Code
- A blown fuse can cause the Chrysler 200 radio to lock.
- Installing a used head unit will require the original radio code.
- After an ECU or software reset, the radio may enter security mode.
- Jump-starting the vehicle can trigger anti-theft mode, requiring the PIN.
What is the Chrysler 200 Radio Security Code?
The radio code is a built-in numeric code that keeps your stereo secure.
It is stored within the radio at the factory and activates automatically whenever the unit loses power.
If the correct code is not entered, the radio remains disabled and produces no sound.
Entering the code tells the radio that it is still in the original vehicle, unlocking all audio functions immediately.
Places to Check Before Buying a Radio Code
Before you pay for it, it's worth checking a few places where the code is often stored.
Some drivers find their Chrysler 200 radio code without needing any tools or paperwork.
Here are the easiest things to check first.
Look Through Car Documentation
- In the owner's manual, often on a code card.
- Inside the glovebox, sometimes on a small card.
- In your car paperwork from the previous owner.
- On the head unit itself, if it was serviced earlier.
- In the trunk, on a radio label.
Can You Get a Chrysler 200 Radio Code from the Dealer?
Dealerships can retrieve your radio code by checking the vehicle records in their system.
They typically require proof of ownership before sharing the security PIN.
This is the official way to restore access to the factory radio.
Potential Downsides:
- Dealers frequently charge a service fee (sometimes more than 100$).
- The lookup is often slower and may require waiting.
- You may need to contact service support during business hours.
- Some imported or older radios may need extra verification.
Finding the Serial Number on a 200's Radio
To get the correct unlock code, you will need the radio serial number from your Chrysler 200's radio unit.
You can usually find it directly on the screen. Common labels to look for: S/N, SN, Serial, Serial Number.
1. How to See the Serial Number on the 200 Screen
The Chrysler 200 ran from 2011 to 2017 in two distinct body styles — the first generation was essentially a refreshed Sebring, while the proper 2015–2017 second-generation 200 was a ground-up redesign on the Fiat Compact platform. Both generations fitted Uconnect 8.4" Classic on mid and upper trims, making the serial number easy to retrieve without any tools.
There is only one Uconnect generation across the 200's entire run, so the procedure is the same regardless of which body style you have:
- Turn the ignition to ACC or ON.
- Hold Fan Up + Fan Down + Front Defrost simultaneously for 5 seconds. Dealer Mode opens on the 8.4" display.
- Navigate: System Info → Radio Part Info → Serial Number.
Alternate route (Engineering Menu): Hold Temp Up (red) + Temp Down (blue) together for 5 seconds. Navigate the same path under System Info.
Note Base 200 models with a 5" display do not support Dealer Mode — if neither button combination works, the serial label is on the radio chassis and requires removal. The serial is a 14-character code starting with T00.
2. The Serial Number on the Radio Sticker
The serial number is usually located on a sticker attached to the head unit.
Step 1: Turn off the the ignition.
Step 2: After that, remove the dashboard trim.
Step 3: Then release the mounting clips.
Step 4: Carefully pull the radio forward partially (Be careful not to damage the connections).
Step 5: Search for the serial number on the side of the unit.
Step 6: Write down the full Serial Number carefully and come back here so that we can generate your code.
Important: Differentiate the Serial Number and the Part Number!
Physical Radio Removal for Chrysler 200
For Chrysler 200 (2011-2017) radio removal, follow the standard Uconnect removal procedure.

Serial Number Formats You'll See on Chrysler 200
To unlock your radio, find the serial that starts with T00AM, TM9, or A2C. Important: do NOT use serials ending in W, J, L, or S — those are screen/DVD/amplifier modules, not the main radio brain.
How to Enter the Unlock Code on Chrysler 200
Once you have the Chrysler's radio code, you can enter it using the radio buttons.
Most radios display a "CODE", "ENTER CODE", or "----" message when they are locked.
You typically use the preset buttons to select each digit.
After entering the full code, the radio will confirm the entry.
On Chrysler 200 with Uconnect:
- Screen displays "ENTER CODE" when locked.
- Use touchscreen keypad (Uconnect 8.4) or preset buttons (older models) to enter the 4-digit code.
- Radio unlocks automatically after correct entry.
