Common Nissan Almera Radio Code Issues

Dealing with a locked Nissan Almera radio? Usually, it was caused by one of these common situations.

Radio Locked After Battery Swap

When the battery is replaced, the Nissan Almera radio locks automatically.

This security feature is designed to protect the original head unit by disabling the radio after power loss.

More Situations That Can Lock Your Almera's Radio

  • Installing a used head unit will trigger the original anti-theft code.
  • A fuse removal can cause the Nissan Almera radio to lock.
  • After an ECU or software reset, the radio may enter security mode.
  • Jump-starting the vehicle can reset the radio, requiring the PIN.

What Exactly is a Radio Anti-Theft Code?

When the radio is disconnected from power, it automatically locks and requires an unlock code to be entered before it can be operated.

A radio unlock code (also known as an anti-theft code) is a security feature integrated into factory car stereos to protect theft.

This system ensures that a removed radio becomes inoperable without the original code.

Entering the right code returns full audio and infotainment functionality.

Quick Checks First

There is a chance your Nissan Almera radio code is already somewhere in your car.

Before spending money, take a few minutes check the places below - it costs nothing to look.

Check the Vehicle Documents

  1. On the back of the radio if the unit was previously removed.
  2. In the radio manual, often on a separate page.
  3. Near the spare tire, where some manufacturers place radio labels.
  4. In the maintenance records provided with the car.
  5. On a sticker in the glove compartment.

Can You Get a Nissan Almera Radio Code from the Dealership?

Dealerships can retrieve your radio code by checking the VIN in their system.

They typically ask for registration and ID before sharing the unlock code.

This is the official way to restore access to the factory radio.

Drawbacks:

  • Dealers frequently bill for the code (It may cost more than 100$).
  • Some imported or older radios may need extra verification.
  • The lookup is often not instant and may require waiting.
  • You may need to visit the dealer during business hours.

Where to Look for the Serial Number

The only thing you'll need to retrieve the unlock code is your radio's radio serial. No VIN is needed.

On most Nissan vehicles, you can find it in one of the following locations:

  • Shown on the radio screen (in some cases by using a key combination)
  • On the radio unit itself - you'll need to remove the unit slightly and write down your serial (which is usually simple)

Search for a label such as: Serial Number or SN.

1. View the Serial Number on Nissan Almera's Screen

Most Nissan vehicles (2010+) with LCN/Navi/Connect systems can display the serial number directly on the screen – no radio removal required.

Important: Unlike other vehicles that show serial numbers immediately, Nissan radios require you to enter a wrong code 3 times first to display the serial number and device information.

LCN Screen Display Method (No Removal Needed!)

  1. Power on the radio - the display shows "CODE"
  2. Enter any random 4-digit number (e.g., 0000) and press OK/Enter
  3. Repeat this process two more times (total of 3 wrong attempts)
  4. After the 3rd incorrect code entry, the screen will automatically display:
    • Serial Number
    • Device Number
    • Date
  5. Write down all displayed information

Radio Label Method (Physical Removal)

For Clarion, Blaupunkt, and other radio types, remove the unit to find the serial number on a label:

Serial number formats:

  • Clarion: CL094390003175, PN2804FB0122741, PP2804FB0122741
  • Blaupunkt: BP1092X1231234
  • Daewoo: Various formats

2. The Serial Number on the Radio Label

The serial number is usually found on a sticker attached to the head unit.

Step 1: Turn off the car.

Step 2: After that, take off the surrounding panel.

Step 3: Then unscrew the radio brackets.

Step 4: Carefully slide the unit out partially (Be careful not to damage the connections).

Step 5: Search for the serial number on the side of the unit.

Step 6: Write down the full Serial Number carefully and come back to our website so that we can generate the code.

Important: Don't mix the Serial Number and the Part Number!

📹 Video Guide: Removing Your Nissan Radio

For most modern Nissan vehicles with LCN/Connect systems, you don't need to remove the radio! Use the on-screen method above (enter wrong code 3 times).

However, if you need to physically remove the radio for Clarion, Blaupunkt, or Daewoo units:

  1. Disconnect the battery – For safety, disconnect the negative terminal before beginning.
  2. Remove the trim bezel – Carefully pry off the dashboard trim surrounding the radio using plastic trim tools.
  3. Unscrew mounting bolts – Remove the screws securing the radio to the dash frame.
  4. Slide the unit forward – Gently pull the radio out to access the label on the back or side.
  5. Locate the serial number label – Look for the barcode sticker with the serial number.
  6. Take a photo – Document the serial number before reinstalling.

How to Enter the Radio Code on Nissan Almera

Once you have the Nissan's unlock code, you can enter it using the infotainment controls.

Most radios display "ENTER CODE", "----" or "XXXX" message when they are locked.

You typically use the preset buttons to select each digit.

After entering the full code, the radio will restore normal operation.

Try not to make mistakes, because too many wrong attempts can disable your radio temporarily.

It will allow you a few missed shots before showing a LOCKED message.

You can reset the lockout by leaving the radio on for 60 minutes or a set waiting period.
