2014 RAM 3500. Purchased used 8.4 head unit from ebay. Installed, works but radio locked. Wish I would have known this existed. Spent 2 hours chatting with Mopar, called dealer for help, called again. They want you to bring it in.

I was skeptical as the Youtube video did not have any reviews but whats 20 bucks when you want to get your radio back working in your 2014 ram.. Before generating the radio code, you need to locate the serial number on the unit.
The serial number is on a label on the back of the radio module. The radio must be physically removed to read it — except on some newer Uconnect systems.

Newer Uconnect systems (2017+) may show the serial on-screen: go to Settings → System Information or About.
Older RAM radios (pre-2017) require physical removal to read the serial label.
With the correct code, unlocking the radio is straightforward.
The unit typically shows four dashes on the screen.
Use the radio keys to enter the code.
Some models unlock after entering the last number - such as pressing ENTER or OK to confirm or holding preset key, Seek or Tune.
Avoid entering the wrong code repeatedly.
After 3 to 10 incorrect attempts the radio may display WAIT mode.
Lockout time varies by brand, sometimes requiring extended waiting.
Refer to your radio manual or our support guides if needed.
After 3 incorrect code attempts, RAM radios enter a security lockout displaying "WAIT".
To recover: Keep ignition in RUN position for 30 continuous minutes. You may drive during this time, but DO NOT turn off ignition or the timer resets. After 30 minutes, you can retry code entry.
