Radio code is delivered immediately after payment on-screen and via email. We're available 24/7, day and night. Most manually processed requests are completed the same day.

Only the serial number from the radio and an email address are needed.

  1. View our demonstration video to see in detail how the service works.
  2. Read verified reviews from real people.
  3. Read our comprehensive blog for service verification, video proof, and customer feedback.

Our lookup system works with the radio serial number, so the VIN is not required.

You can request a refund if the code is invalid. A video showing the radio serial and code entry is required for refunds. Review our Refund Policy for complete terms.

How can I find the code for my Aptiv radio?

If you have not lost the Aptiv code yet, check these places first - many vehicles ship with the code written down somewhere in the car.

  • Glovebox - Many manufacturers ship a small sticker labelled "Anti-theft unlock code" inside the glovebox door or top panel.
  • Owner's manual - Often handwritten on the inside cover or stapled to the page covering the radio.
  • Code card - A small slip of paper inside the original purchase pack - sometimes inside the radio sleeve itself.
  • Service records - Dealers sometimes write the Aptiv radio code into the maintenance log after a battery service.
  • Old paperwork - Previous owners often leave the code in the document folder, especially on second-hand cars.
  • Dealer paperwork - The original window-sticker pack or sales folder sometimes lists the radio code.

About Aptiv Radios

Aptiv PLC was spun off from Delphi Technologies in 2017 and inherited Delphi's entire automotive infotainment business. In the Stellantis platform Aptiv supplies the Uconnect VP2 (small touchscreen) generation used in Fiat 500X, Renegade, Jeep Cherokee KL, RAM ProMaster and selected Chrysler 200 / 300 trims. Aptiv VP2 serials almost always start with "TVPQN" or "TQN" and use a TF-board layout with QR-coded labels on later production runs.

Factory radios produced by Aptiv can be found in a wide range of vehicles and infotainment systems.

Although the exterior design may vary between vehicles, many units share common serial number structures and security features.

Each Aptiv unit can usually be identified by a unique combination of letters, numbers, and production prefixes.

Serial structures are not universal and can change across different radio platforms manufactured by Aptiv.

Certain models include a diagnostic menu that can reveal the serial number without removing the unit.

For older systems, accessing the label on the radio housing remains the most reliable identification method.

To ensure an accurate radio code lookup, always enter the complete serial number exactly as shown.

Radios with the same design may still require different unlock codes if they were produced under different platforms or serial ranges.

How to Find the Serial Number on Your Aptiv Radio

By Removing the Radio Unit (Standard Method)

In the majority of cases, the serial number is printed on a physical factory tag attached to the back or side of the radio unit casing.

To access it, you'll usually need to slightly pull the stereo out of the console. Depending on the vehicle and radio model, this may require basic dashboard tools:

  • Look for a white, silver, or yellow sticker labeled "Serial," "S/N," or containing a barcode
  • The serial typically contains letters and digits with manufacturer-specific prefixes such as "BP" (Blaupunkt), "M" / "V" (Ford/Visteon), "BE" (Becker), or "CL" (Clarion)
  • Do not confuse the serial number with the model or part number

On the Radio Display (No Removal Needed)

Some newer infotainment systems and specific factory units allow the serial number to be displayed directly on-screen using a hidden service menu or a specific button combination.

Aptiv-specific: Aptiv VP2 displays the serial on the locked "ENTER CODE" screen on most units. The 5-inch touchscreen shows the keypad with the serial printed above it. Some early-production VP2 boards do not show the serial on-screen - those require pulling the radio and reading the chassis label.

  • Try holding "INFO" + "MENU" while switching the radio on
  • The serial may briefly appear on the display
  • Every manufacturer uses different key sequences

This feature is only available on selected digital and factory-integrated models. If nothing appears after trying the button combinations, you'll need to physically remove the radio and check the metal casing label manually.

Aptiv Serial Number Examples

Each manufacturer uses its own serial structure and label style.

Below are some common examples found on Aptiv radios:

  • The first characters often identify the radio platform or production series
  • Serial formats vary, but they are typically alphanumeric
  • Newer infotainment systems may reveal the serial without removing the unit
  • Classic units often require radio removal to access the serial sticker

Aptiv prefix patterns

  • TVPQN - Aptiv Uconnect VP2 - Chrysler 200 / 300, Jeep Cherokee KL with small touchscreen
  • TQN - Aptiv VP2 board variant - Mexico assembly, Fiat 500X / Renegade

Real Aptiv serial examples

  • TVPQN0017293
  • TVPQN0045621
  • TQN0019844
  • TQN0026731

Aptiv VP2 serials are typically 10-12 characters total: 3-5 letter prefix plus 6-8 digits. Include the full prefix when submitting - the lookup uses the prefix to pick the right algorithm.

Different radio families may use different prefixes and label layouts. Always enter the full serial exactly as shown on the label or display.

Common Car Brands That Use Aptiv Radio

Aptiv ships exclusively to Stellantis - Chrysler 200 and 300, Jeep Cherokee KL, Fiat 500X, Renegade, RAM ProMaster. The VP2 board is the entry-level Uconnect option (small 5-inch touchscreen) and is paired on the assembly line with Harman, Panasonic and Continental boards on higher trim levels.

Many factory radios from different brands share the same Aptiv platform.

How to Enter the Anti-Theft Code

Most factory radios can be unlocked in less than a minute after entering the correct code.

When the anti-theft system is active, the radio will lock out all audio features and ask for the unlock code immediately.

How to Type the Security PIN:

Depending on your specific Aptiv unit interface, use the preset buttons, touchscreen keypad, or numbered controls to input the unlock sequence:

  • For radios with a standard 1-6 preset button row: Many classic radios do not let you type numbers directly if the code contains digits higher than 6 (like 7, 8, or 9). Instead, you must press a single preset button repeatedly to cycle through digits. For example, to enter the first digit of your code, press the '1' preset button repeatedly until the correct number appears on screen, then move to preset '2' for the second digit, and so on.
  • For touchscreen or full-keypad models: Simply tap the corresponding numbers directly on the display screen or use the full 0-9 physical dial pad to type the sequence.

⚠️ Avoid Repeated Wrong Entry Attempts:

Avoid entering random codes repeatedly..

Many radios enter a SAFE, WAIT, or temporary lockout mode after 3 to 10 incorrect attempts.

If you're unsure how to confirm the code or navigate your specific hardware layout, check your original radio manual or contact our support team.
