Where to find it
- Switch the radio on. If it shows CODE or LOCKED, hold preset buttons 1 and 6 together (2 and 6 on the 4500 RDS) for a few seconds; on many units the serial appears on the screen.
- On other units, the serial is printed on the label on the top or side of the radio, next to the barcode. It starts with M or V and has six digits after it.
- Ignore the long part number (it usually starts with a year code and has letters in the middle). Only the M or V serial produces this code.
How to enter the code
- With the radio showing CODE, press preset button 1 as many times as the first digit, button 2 for the second, button 3 for the third and button 4 for the fourth.
- Press button 5 to confirm.
- A wrong code adds a waiting time before the next try, so check each digit before you confirm.

Ford units whose serial is the letter M or V followed by six digits, such as the 6000CD and 4500 RDS fitted to many Focus, Fiesta, Mondeo, Galaxy and Transit models. Other Ford serials need the paid lookup on the home page.
Check the serial first: the letter must be M or V and the six digits must be read exactly, with no O in place of a 0. If the radio shows a waiting time after a wrong code, leave it switched on until the timer ends, then enter the code again.
