Typing the code into your Chrysler RAD Alpine
It takes under a minute once you have the four digits.
- Give the radio power - the display comes up asking for the code.
- Power up - the display shows "CODE 0000" or four dashes. Use preset 1 to step the first digit up, preset 2 for the second digit, etc. Hold or press preset 5 (sometimes labelled CHK) to confirm. The radio plays a short tone on success.
- On the correct code the lock clears and the radio plays again straight away.
Troubleshooting the Chrysler RAD Alpine
The radio is counting down
A countdown means the anti-theft system is holding the unit. Leave the ignition on until it clears. After three wrong codes the display reads "WAIT" with a 60-minute lockout. Leave the key in ACC; the radio counts down only while it has power applied. Once the timer expires the keypad reactivates and the correct code clears it.
I cannot find the serial number

Why it happened again
That is normal - the anti-theft system re-arms every time the unit loses power. Loss of 12V to the radio - typical triggers are a flat battery, battery swap during service, or the radio being removed for inspection.
