The Chrysler RBP Alpine is an original factory-installed head unit developed for selected Chrysler vehicles. Designed to provide reliable audio playback and vehicle integration, this unit may also offer Bluetooth connectivity, touchscreen controls, CD/DVD playback, navigation or multimedia support, depending on the specific version.
RBP is the Alpine premium cassette-plus-six-disc-CD-changer double-DIN - cassette slot on the left, in-dash 6-CD changer on the right of the face. Larger amplifier output than RBL, intended for the Infinity/premium-audio trim packages.
Between 2002-2007 the Chrysler RBP Alpine appeared across a number of Chrysler models, usually on vehicles using the Alpine multimedia platform. It stayed in production long enough to become a common sight in that generation of cars.

Typing the code into your Chrysler RBP Alpine

The screen shows a wait timer
The timer is the radio protecting itself after failed entries - power on, patience, then try again. Three wrong entries triggers "WAIT" for 60 minutes. The timer must have constant 12V to count down.
I cannot find the serial number
It is printed on the housing, so the unit normally has to come forward to read it. Top of the chassis, white sticker near centre-rear. Why it happened again
That is normal - the anti-theft system re-arms every time the unit loses power. Battery disconnect, dead battery, or harness disconnection during radio removal.
I am not sure I have the right variant
Close relatives of this unit look almost identical from the driver's seat. RBP carries an in-dash 6-CD changer - if your face shows only one CD slot you have RBL or RBT. RBP part numbers cluster around P05064125, P05082467, P05091606, P05094468 and P56038586.
Note the four digits somewhere safe - they are permanent and reusable after any power cut.
