If your serial starts with one of these, we can recover your code.
How it works
The whole process needs one piece of information and two minutes of your time.
- 1 Locate the serial number It is printed on the unit's own label, usually near the barcode. Release keys slide the radio out far enough to read it.
- 2 Type it into the box Copy it character for character. We check the format up front, so a typo never costs you anything.
- 3 Your code lands in seconds The code is delivered automatically, day or night. Enter it on the radio and the anti-theft screen clears.
If it does not work, you are refunded in full.
The photo is a stand-in: your radio wears the same kind of label.

Identify Your Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX Radio
Before ordering a radio code it is important to confirm the exact model. Match the design, controls, display and features below with the unit in your dashboard.
Identifying details:
- 12.0" touchscreen in the centre of the dash
- Shipped for the North America market
- UAX printed on the factory label
- A serial that begins with TM9
It is the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX when:
- the factory label reads UAX
- the label serial begins with TM9
- the car left the factory between 2019-2022
- the screen is the 12.0" touchscreen fitted to the Uconnect 12.0
UAX shares the face and 12-inch screen with UAV. The deciding signal is the chassis part number plus the presence of the H/K or premium-audio badge on the door speakers. UAV is the standard nav variant; UAX is the premium-audio variant.
Where to Find Your Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX Serial Number
Every Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX has a unique serial number, and the unlock code is derived from it. You will find that number on the unit's own label - it is not in the service book and not on the dashboard.
On the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX: Top of the chassis assembly behind the 12-inch screen. Single-piece removal via four bolts on the dash bracket.
Three steps to the serial number:
- Slide the radio out of the dash - most units need a pair of release keys, which cost very little online.
- Read the serial from the factory sticker on the housing, next to or under the barcode.
- Enter it character for character - no spaces, no dashes.

Introducing the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX
Fitted as original equipment in selected Chrysler models, the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX handles audio playback and vehicle integration from the factory. Depending on the version, it can also add Bluetooth, touchscreen operation, CD/DVD playback, navigation or wider multimedia support.
Uconnect 12.0 UAX is the North American Panasonic 12-inch premium-audio variant - same vertical 12-inch screen as UAV plus factory-paired Harman/Kardon or Alpine 19-speaker amplifier package. The "X" suffix in U-series denotes the premium-audio/extended-feature tier.
Between 2019-2022 the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX appeared across a number of Chrysler models, usually on vehicles using the Panasonic multimedia platform. It stayed in production long enough to become a common sight in that generation of cars.
Common features on this unit:
12.0" touchscreen
AM/FM radio
Bluetooth for hands-free calls and music streaming
USB media playback
SiriusXM satellite radio*
Steering wheel control support
Anti-theft security code
*Availability depends on the vehicle configuration.
As with other Panasonic factory units, the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX locks itself when power is lost. After a battery disconnect or a workshop visit the screen will prompt for the original security code before any audio returns.
For the manufacturer's own documentation of this platform, see the official Uconnect site.
How Owners End Up on This Page
The lock screen rarely appears out of nowhere - one of these four situations is behind nearly every locked Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX we see.
A repair cut the power
Alternator, starter or fuse-box work usually means disconnecting the battery - and the radio arms its anti-theft as a side effect of the repair.
A replacement radio
A used unit from a donor car always arrives locked, and the code from your old radio will not fit - the code follows each radio's own serial number, so order it for the serial on the REPLACEMENT unit.
You bought the car used
No handbook, no code card, seller long gone - none of it matters. The radio's own serial number carries everything needed to calculate the code.
New battery, locked radio
Any battery work counts as a power cut to the radio. It locks automatically and waits for the original code before playing again.
Whichever of these happened to you, the fix is identical: the serial number off the radio, the form at the top of this page, and the code arrives in seconds.

Compatible OEM Part Numbers 44
These are the OEM references this page covers. If the number on your radio's label appears below, we can recover your code.
Do not worry about the trailing letters: the 44 numbers span 7 base references, and the letter suffixes only mark production revisions - the code works across all of them.

Vehicles Equipped with the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX
| Vehicle Model | Typical Production Years | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ram 1500 DT Limited, Limited Longhorn (US premium-audio nav trims) | 2019-2022 | |
| Ram 1500 TRX (US, where 12-inch is fitted) | 2019-2022 |
The vehicles listed above are the most common factory applications for the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX. Equipment packages and regional specifications differ, so verify the radio using its design, serial number or part number before ordering a code.
Entering the code on the Chrysler Uconnect 12.0 UAX
The code goes straight into the radio, not into the car's menus.
- Give the radio power - key to accessory is enough - and wait for the code prompt.
- The screen shows a numeric keypad for the four digits.
- Punch in all four digits, first to last.
- Verification happens by itself once the fourth digit is in.
- The security screen disappears and the unit returns to normal operation.
If something goes wrong
The unit will not take more codes
Wrong codes put the unit into a lockout, and the only fix is to leave it powered and wait. Three wrong codes triggers a 60-minute "PLEASE WAIT" countdown.
Where the number actually is
The serial is on the unit itself, not in the vehicle papers or on the dashboard. Top of the chassis assembly behind the 12-inch screen. Single-piece removal via four bolts on the dash bracket.
The radio locked itself again
Expected behaviour: the security system trips again whenever power is cut. Loss of 12V power.
This radio looks like several others
A few models in this family share the same face, so the label is what settles it. UAX shares the face and 12-inch screen with UAV. The deciding signal is the chassis part number plus the presence of the H/K or premium-audio badge on the door speakers. UAV is the standard nav variant; UAX is the premium-audio variant.
Save the code: it stays valid, so the next battery change costs you nothing.
