Your code in three steps
No VIN, no paperwork, no appointment - the serial number off the radio is the only thing we need.
- 1 Get the serial off the radio On the factory sticker on the radio housing, next to the barcode. Most units have to come out of the dash - release keys cost a few dollars.
- 2 Put it in the form on the left Just the serial and your email. The validator runs before the payment step.
- 3 Get the code The code appears the moment the payment clears, and a copy goes to your email. Keep it - the same four digits work for the life of the radio.
Covered by a full refund if the code turns out not to fit your unit.
An example from the same family - find the matching sticker on your unit.
What a valid serial looks like
Common Chrysler serial numbers look like this:
TM9341100221
(prefix: TM9)
TM9128455907
(prefix: TM9)
TM9067230144
(prefix: TM9)
Prefixes we see most: TM9
Confirm Your Radio Model
Before ordering a radio code it is important to confirm the exact model. Compare the design, controls, display and features below with the unit in your dashboard.
Typical identification features:
- 8.4" touchscreen set into the middle of the dash
- The home screen has no NAV tile and no maps on board
- Shipped for the Canada market
- UCQ printed on the factory label
- A serial that begins with TM9
It is the Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ when:
- the factory label reads UCQ
- the label serial begins with TM9
- the car left the factory between 2017-2020
- the display matches the Uconnect 8.4 8.4" touchscreen
UCQ boots in English and French by default. If your screen only offers English/Spanish, you likely have UAQ (US) rather than UCQ. No NAV tile - if maps draw, you have UCV.
Where to Find Your Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ Serial Number
The code is calculated from the radio's own serial number, so that number is the only thing you need before ordering. It is printed on the chassis label of the unit itself, not in the vehicle documents.
On the Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ: Chassis top label. Removal required - three 7mm bolts.
Getting to the label:
- Slide the radio out of the dash - most units need a pair of release keys, which cost a few dollars online.
- The serial is on the chassis sticker, usually right next to the barcode - copy it down.
- Type it into the form exactly as printed, with no spaces or dashes.

What Is the Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ Radio?
The Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ is a dealer-installed Chrysler audio and multimedia unit. Alongside standard radio and audio playback it may include touchscreen controls, Bluetooth, CD/DVD playback or factory navigation, depending on how the vehicle was specified.
Uconnect 8.4 UCQ is the Canadian-market Panasonic 8.4-inch non-navigation head unit (the "C" middle letter denotes Canada). Same 8.4-inch hardware as UAQ but with bilingual English/French menus and Canadian FM-step settings.
Between 2017-2020 the Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ appeared across a number of Chrysler models, usually on vehicles using the Panasonic multimedia platform. It stayed in production long enough to become a common sight in that generation of cars.
Features you may find on the Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ:
8.4" touchscreen
AM/FM radio
Hands-free Bluetooth with audio streaming
Media playback over USB
SiriusXM satellite radio*
Steering wheel control support
Anti-theft security code
*Availability varies with the vehicle configuration.
The Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ carries the same anti-theft protection as most factory units. Once power is cut - a flat battery, a battery swap, or the radio being removed - it will ask for the original code before it comes back to life.
For the manufacturer's own documentation of this platform, see the official Uconnect site.
What Usually Triggers the Code Screen
A locked Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ is almost always the result of one of four everyday situations, none of which mean anything is broken.
Back from the mechanic, radio locked
Mechanics routinely disconnect the battery before electrical work. The car comes back fixed and the radio comes back locked - expected, not a fault.
A used car with a locked radio
Second and third owners rarely get the code card. The radio itself still carries everything needed - its serial number.
A battery swap
Any battery work counts as a power cut to the radio. It re-arms automatically and waits for the original code before playing again.
A unit from a breaker
Swapping in a refurbished radio means a new serial and therefore a new code - the one from the old unit will never work.
All four roads lead to the same fix - read the serial off the unit, enter it above, and the original code comes back instantly.

Supported OEM References 134
All of the part numbers listed here are supported. Match the one printed on your unit's label and you are in the right place.
Do not worry about the trailing letters: the 134 numbers span 12 base references, and the letter suffixes only mark factory revisions - the code works across all of them.

Look for the part number on the radio's identification sticker, typically beside the serial number. Any reference listed here is covered by this service.
Once the code arrives
It takes under a minute once you have the four digits.
- Switch the ignition on and let the radio boot to its security screen.
- The code prompt appears with its own keypad.
- Enter the four digits in the order you received them.
- As soon as the last digit lands, the radio runs the check on its own.
- On a correct code the radio leaves security mode and plays again.
Troubleshooting the Chrysler Uconnect 8.4 UCQ
The screen shows a wait timer
The timer is the radio protecting itself after failed entries - power on, patience, then try again. 30-minute WAIT countdown after three wrong codes.
The serial is hiding from you
Nothing on the car's menus shows it - the number lives on the radio's own label. Chassis top label. Removal required - three 7mm bolts.
It is asking for the code a second time
By design, every loss of power resets the anti-theft lock. Battery service, dead battery, or radio removal.
Same face, different radio
One glance at the label settles it - worth doing before the order. UCQ boots in English and French by default. If your screen only offers English/Spanish, you likely have UAQ (US) rather than UCQ. No NAV tile - if maps draw, you have UCV.
The code belongs to the radio and never changes, so keep it somewhere safe once you have it.
What Owners Usually Ask
What Customers Say
Left by customers after entering their code. See the reviews page for all of them.
"I was afraid this was a scam, but I took a chance and it worked perfectly. I bought the radio from a junkyard on ebay and of course it was locked. The unlock process was very easy and I received the code within seconds."
Thank you for the code, you saved me a 140.00 and a trip to the dealer.
