Why Did the Radio Lock and Ask for a Code?
The 2015 Chrysler 300C RA3 locks automatically after any power disconnection. The HEMI flagship radio is no exception — a disconnected radio is useless without the code.
Typical trigger: battery replacement or disconnect. Other causes:
- Failed fuse after electrical work
- Buying the 300C pre-owned without a known code
- Battery disconnect for service
- Battery dead from not driving
Code comes from the radio serial number — not the VIN.
How to Find the Serial Number on Your 2015 Chrysler 300C Radio?
The first step is writing down the radio serial.
Many people assume the code depends on the Chrysler model or year, but in reality, the unlock process relies on the unique radio's serial number.
The serial is the key used to calculate the correct unlock code.
This is actually better, because if you have bought an aftermarket radio, the VIN or other Chrysler-specific data wouldn't help.
Based on the radio version used, you can retrieve the serial directly from the display or by checking the label on the radio chassis.
Factory Radios on the 2015 Chrysler 300C
The 2015 model year is the start of the LD facelift, and the 300C sits at the upper end of the range above the 300 Limited and 300S. On 300C and 300C Platinum trims the navigation-equipped 8.4-inch Uconnect 8.4 NAV (RA4) is the standard head unit, while the non-nav RA3 appears on a small subset of early-build cars before navigation was bundled in.
- Uconnect 8.4 NAV / RA4 - the standard radio on 300C and 300C Platinum. An 8.4-inch landscape touchscreen with the Garmin nav database, HD Radio and SiriusXM Traffic / Travel Link. A Nav tile sits on the home screen and the SiriusXM Traffic splash appears at start-up.
- Uconnect 8.4 / RA3 - the same 8.4-inch hardware as the RA4 but without factory navigation. Less common on a 300C, generally seen on early-build or order-specific cars where the nav option was deselected.
Quick tell: 8.4-inch screen with a Nav tile and a SiriusXM Traffic splash at startup = RA4; 8.4-inch screen without a Nav tile = RA3. The sales code is printed on the label on top of the radio chassis - pull the bezel and look at the housing to confirm.
Access the S/N via the Radio Screen
Try the following for your 2015 Chrysler 300C:
The 2015 Chrysler 300C — Chrysler's HEMI V8 flagship sedan — is equipped with the Uconnect 8.4" Classic (RA3). The 300C's luxury-spec cabin features the same climate control cluster beneath the 8.4" screen used to trigger Dealer Mode.
Hold Climate Up, Climate Down, and Front Defrost simultaneously for 5 seconds (ignition in ACC or ON). Dealer Mode opens on the display. Go to: System Info → Radio Part Info → Serial Number.
Read the Serial Number Through the Touchscreen
On the 8.4-inch Uconnect head units fitted to 2015 Chrysler 300C cars, the radio's internal serial number can usually be read from a hidden dealer / diagnostic menu. That is much faster than dropping the unit out of the dash, and it works even when the radio is at the CODE prompt provided the touchscreen still responds.
Uconnect 8.4 NAV (RA4) and Uconnect 8.4 (RA3)
- Place the ignition in RUN so the touchscreen is fully booted.
- Press and hold the driver's temperature UP, temperature DOWN and front DEFROST buttons together for around 7 seconds.
- When the dealer / diagnostic menu opens on the 8.4-inch screen, choose the radio-information entries near the top of the list - they list serial numbers, hardware and software revisions and similar identifiers.
- Note the full serial exactly as printed, including any leading letters such as
T00AMorTM9. - Press Done, or cycle the ignition off and on, to leave the menu.
If the dealer-mode shortcut does not bring up a serial entry on your specific car, fall back to the chassis-label method described in the radio-removal block.
Access the S/N by Pulling Out the Radio
If the serial number cannot be accessed on-screen, use the pull-out method.
Most Chrysler 300C OEM radios include a tag with the serial number printed on the casing.
The process:
- Shut down the car.
- Lift away surrounding dashboard trim.
- Loosen screws holding the radio.
- Slide outward to inspect the label.
If Dealer Mode is unavailable on the 2015 Chrysler 300C, the RA3 unit needs to come out from the 300C's luxury center console. The 300C's premium bezel may need more careful handling when removing the leather-wrapped or piano-black.
- Carefully remove the premium center bezel with a plastic trim tool — use care with the interior finish.
- Remove the four Phillips mounting screws.
- Slide the unit forward to access the serial label on the side or back of the radio chassis.
Pull the Head Unit and Read the Chassis Label
If you cannot reach the hidden menu - for example because the radio is locked at the CODE prompt and the touchscreen is unresponsive - removing the head unit and reading the printed serial label on the chassis is the most dependable method on a 2015 Chrysler 300C.
Safety preparation
- Switch the ignition fully off and remove the key fob from the cabin.
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the 12V battery.
- Wait several minutes before reaching behind the dash so any airbag-related circuits can fully discharge.
- Stay clear of the yellow airbag harnesses while moving trim around.
Tools you will want ready
- Plastic trim / panel pry tools to free the centre bezel without scratching the dash.
- A driver matching the four radio retaining screws (typically Phillips or 7 mm).
- A phone or camera to photograph the serial label clearly.
Removal overview
- Beginning at a lower edge, gently pry the centre dash bezel that surrounds the radio and HVAC controls. On the 2015 LD 300C the bezel is held by retaining clips rather than bolts.
- Walk the pry tool around the perimeter until each clip releases, then ease the bezel forward.
- Reach behind the bezel and unplug the small connectors for the hazard switch, clock and climate controls before fully removing it.
- Undo the four retaining screws now visible at the corners of the radio chassis.
- Slide the head unit out and disconnect the main wiring harness and the antenna lead.
Where the serial is printed
- Look at the top, side or rear face of the metal chassis for a thermal-printed label.
- Copy the long alphanumeric string next to the barcode and double-check ambiguous characters (O vs 0, I vs 1).
Tips
- Photograph the label before refitting so you have a permanent reference for the serial.
- Reassembly is the reverse of removal - harness back on, four screws home, bezel snapped in until each clip seats, then reconnect the battery.

Standard Serial Number Patterns on This Radio
The 2015 Chrysler 300C HEMI RA3 radio serial formats:
T00AM– Harman VP2 RA3 — typical on the 300C premium trimsT00BE– Continental version of the 8.4" systemTM9– Earlier Harman production
Serial is 14 alphanumeric characters. Part number on the same label starts with P05064 or 68 — that's not the serial.
Typical Serial Number Formats on 2015 Chrysler 300C Radios
The 2015 Chrysler 300C left the factory with the Uconnect 8.4 family, but those head units could be supplied by different manufacturers and each tends to use its own serial-number style. The patterns below are the ones most often reported by owners and unlock services for this generation - treat them as guidance rather than a guarantee.
Continental-supplied Uconnect 8.4 (RA3 / RA4)
- Frequently start with a
T00AMprefix followed by a numeric tail, for example a string resemblingT00AM1234567. - The prefix is usually printed inline with the rest of the serial on the chassis label.
Panasonic-supplied Uconnect units
- Often start with
TM9followed by additional digits or letters. - This pattern has been widely associated with Panasonic-built Mopar radios from the early Uconnect 8.4 era.
If the alphanumeric you read does not match either of these examples, double-check that you copied the serial line and not the part number. The serial is normally the longest string on the label and is the one tied to the barcode.
Unlocking the Radio After Code Generation
After generating the correct unlock code based on the serial number, you can restore normal functionality by entering it into the unit.
The code entry process depends on the head unit design, but most 2015 300C systems follow a similar structure using preset buttons, touch controls, or rotary knobs - depending on if it's a factory or an aftermarket unit.
You will typically see ENTER CODE displayed on screen.
Correct Entering Process
To unlock the 2015 Chrysler 300C's Uconnect 8.4":
- Turn ignition to ON. The screen displays "ENTER CODE".
- Use the on-screen keypad to enter your 4-digit code.
- Radio unlocks automatically after the 4th digit.
3 wrong attempts cause a 60-minute lockout. Keep ignition ON for the full duration without switching off.
Step-by-Step Code Input Guide
Once you have the correct anti-theft code for your 2015 Chrysler 300C radio, the entry itself is fast - but the unit will lock you out for half an hour if you keep entering wrong codes, so verify the code before you start.
Limited Attempt Warning
You only get three attempts. After three wrong codes in a row the radio enters a WAIT state and the display reads WAIT. To clear it, the radio must remain powered with the ignition in RUN for a continuous 30 minutes. The vehicle may be driven during that period, but cycling the key off does not shortcut the timer.
Entering the code
- Turn the ignition to RUN or ACC so the radio powers up and shows the CODE / Anti-Theft prompt.
- On the 8.4-inch Uconnect (RA3 / RA4), tap each digit on the touchscreen number pad.
- Confirm with the OK / Enter on-screen control.
- If accepted, the radio returns to its normal home screen and audio resumes.
If it does not unlock
- Stop after the second wrong attempt and re-verify the serial number you used to obtain the code.
- Make sure no leading letters or trailing digits were dropped from the serial.
- If
WAITappears, leave the radio powered for the full 30 minutes before trying again.
How Serial-Based Chrysler 300C Radio Unlock Works
Getting your radio code takes only 4 simple steps.
- Find the radio's serial number - this is the only information required by our side.
Unlike dealership lookup, no VIN is needed. - Enter the serial number into our generator above.
The system checks it against a database of supported units and automatically finds the matching radio code. - In most cases, the code will appear instantly on the screen after payment and is also sent to your email for backup.
If manual verification is required (rare situations), you'll be informed before checkout. - Once you receive it, simply enter it into the radio to restore full functionality.
Fixing Common Code Entry Problems for 2015 300C
The 300C Uconnect RA3 uses touchscreen-only code entry. Press each digit on the on-screen keypad. No physical buttons involved. Auto-unlocks after the 4th digit.
The 300C RA3 label carries both serial and part number. The serial: 14 chars starting with T00AM, T00BE, or TM9. The part number (skip this): starts with P05064 or 68.
Re-read the label, especially 0 vs. O. Contact support for a free re-check if needed.
3 wrong entries lock the 300C's RA3 for 60 minutes. Maintain ignition in ON or ACC for the full 60 minutes. Turning off restarts the timer from zero.
On the 300C label: serial = 14 alphanumeric chars, starts with T00AM, T00BE, or TM9. Part number starts with P05064 or 68 — not the serial.
If the 300C Uconnect boots normally, the lock hasn't activated. Force it by briefly pulling the radio fuse, then reconnect and turn to ON.
