Built to deliver reliable audio playback and vehicle integration, this unit may also offer Bluetooth connectivity, touchscreen controls, CD/DVD playback, navigation or multimedia support, depending on the exact configuration.
Uconnect 8.4 RA4 (VP4 Mexico) is the second-spec 8.4-inch navigation Uconnect for Mexico - 8.4-inch touchscreen, built-in maps, Mexican Spanish defaults.
Between 2014-2018 the Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX appeared across a number of Chrysler models, usually on vehicles using the Harman multimedia platform. It stayed in production long enough to become a familiar sight in that generation of cars.
Features you may find on the Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX:
8.4" touchscreen
AM/FM radio
Navigation built in, with factory map data

Finding the Serial Number on the Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX
Every Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX has a unique serial number, and the unlock code is worked out from it. You will find that number on the unit's own label - it is not in the service book and not on the dashboard.
On the Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX: Top of the chassis. Radio must come out.
Getting to the label:
- Pull the unit forward with release keys (a few dollars online) - the wiring can stay plugged in.
- Read the serial from the printed label on the housing, next to or under the barcode.
- Copy it into the form letter for letter; the checker catches any typo before payment.

Typical Ways a Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX Gets Locked
Nearly all of the Uconnect 8.4 RA4 VP4 MX codes we generate follow one of these four events.
Back from the mechanic, radio locked
Mechanics often disconnect the battery before electrical work. The car comes back fixed and the radio comes back locked - normal, not a fault.
A used car with a locked radio
Second and third owners rarely get the code card. The radio itself still carries everything needed - its serial number.
The battery was replaced
Any battery work counts as a power cut to the radio. It re-arms automatically and waits for the original code before playing again.
A unit from a breaker
Swapping in a refurbished radio means a new serial and therefore a new code - the one from the old unit will never work.
All four roads lead to the same solution - read the serial off the unit, enter it above, and the original code comes back instantly.

- A keypad for the code fills the middle of the screen.
- Tap the four digits of your code in order.
- There is no separate OK button - the radio checks the code on the last tap.
- A correct code clears the lock screen and the audio comes straight back.

It is printed on the housing, so the unit normally has to come forward to read it. Top of the chassis. Radio must come out.
Why it happened again
That is normal - the anti-theft system re-arms every time the unit loses power. Loss of 12V supply.
Making sure it is the right unit
The differences are easy to miss, so check this before ordering. VP4 second-generation Mexican variant. Spanish default boot. Check chassis part number against this page.
Write the code down - the same four digits work for the life of the unit.
