Unlock Your 2024 Renault Clio Radio in Minutes - How It Works
Getting your radio code takes only a few simple steps.
- Find your radio's serial - this is the only info required by our side.
Unlike dealership lookup, no VIN is needed. - Enter the serial number into our generator above.
The system checks it against a database of supported factory radios and automatically retrieves the matching security code. - In most cases, the code will appear instantly on the screen after you pay and is also sent to your email , just in case.
If we need to check it manually, you'll be notified before checkout. - Once you receive the code, simply enter it into the radio to restore the functionality.
Final Step - Enter the Radio Code
Now that you've generated 2024 Renault Clio anti-theft code from the serial number, you're ready to reactivate the radio.
Many drivers hesitate at this stage because input process can look different across radio versions, but it's usually simple.
When the radio shows CODE, it means the unit is waiting for the correct numbers.
Detailed Entering Instructions for Clio 2024
To enter the code on the 2024 Renault Clio:
- Ignition ON. Radio shows "CODE" or four dashes (----).
- Use preset buttons 1-4 to enter each digit of the 4-digit code. Each press advances the digit (0-9).
- Hold button 5 or button 6 to confirm.
Lockout: Multiple incorrect entries will cause a lockout. Turn off the radio for approximately 30 minutes, then try again.
Locate the Serial Number Needed to Generate Renault Clio 2024 Radio Code
The first step is writing down the radio S/N.
Many people assume the code depends on the Renault model or year, but in reality, the unlock process depends on the unique radio's serial number.
The serial is the key used to calculate the correct unlock code.
This is actually better, because if you have bought an aftermarket radio, the VIN or other vehicle-specific data wouldn't help.
Based on the radio used, you can see the serial directly from the screen or by checking the label on the radio chassis.
Factory Radios on the 2024 Renault Clio
- Facelift context - the 2024 model year covers the mid-cycle Clio refresh. Lower and mid trims continue with the EASY LINK head units, while top trims and the new flagship trim introduce the OpenR Link head unit with Google built-in.
- EASY LINK 7-inch (carry-over) - landscape touchscreen on entry trims, with DAB, Bluetooth, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- EASY LINK 9.3-inch (carry-over) - portrait touchscreen on mid and higher trims that did not migrate to OpenR Link, with embedded TomTom navigation, OTA updates, and Renault connected services.
- OpenR Link with Google built-in (new on facelift) - portrait touchscreen fitted to top trims. Identify by the Google Maps tile on the home screen, Google Assistant voice control, and the Google Play app store icon. The software family is Android Automotive with Google Automotive Services rather than the older EASY LINK stack.
- Quick field test - if the home screen shows Google Maps as the native navigation app and a Google Play icon is present, the unit is OpenR Link. If the navigation is TomTom-branded with no Google Play tile, the unit is EASY LINK.
Screen-Based Serial Lookup Method
These are the steps you should follow for 2024 Renault Clio:
The 2024 Renault Clio features a Renault OEM radio or MediaNav system. Most Renault radios don't support an on-screen serial number retrieval method.
The serial number can be found on a sticker on the radio unit. The radio must be extracted to access it. Some newer Clio with MediaNav may show the serial in Settings → System.
Pulling Out the Radio Unit to See the S/N on the Tag
If the serial number cannot be accessed via display, use the removal method.
Most Renault Clio factory radios include a tag with the serial number printed on the casing.
The process:
- Remove key from ignition.
- Gently detach surrounding mounting frame.
- Release clips holding the radio.
- Slide outward to inspect the label.
To retrieve the serial on the 2024 Renault Clio:
- Turn off the vehicle.
- Locate the extraction holes on both sides of the radio. Renault radios commonly use pin-release extraction holes.
- Insert extraction tools and pull the radio out.
- Locate the serial on the barcode label on the casing. It begins with PR.
Note: Renault extraction tools are the same European-style tools used for many European vehicles.
Releasing the Radio Unit to Access the S/N on the Tag
- Strong recommendation - have the head unit removed by a qualified auto-electrician. Both EASY LINK and OpenR Link variants on the 2024 facelift are deeply integrated into the dashboard, share wiring with climate controls, and sit near SRS wiring.
- Mandatory safety steps - ignition off, key card removed, negative terminal of the 12V battery disconnected, minimum five-minute wait before touching the dash. Do not disturb yellow connectors at any time.
- Tools - plastic trim removal wedges, Torx bit set, small ratchet and extensions, flashlight, phone camera to photograph the chassis label.
- Sequence - unclip the screen bezel, release retaining fasteners revealed behind it, ease the unit forward, then unplug the multi-pin harness only once the unit is fully clear. The radio must not be powered while partially disconnected.
- Serial location - on a manufacturer sticker on the top or side of the metal chassis, labelled S/N or Serial. The unlock code is not printed on the radio.
- Photograph and verify - capture a clear image and re-check 0 versus O, 1 versus I, and 8 versus B before submission.
- Stop if anything resists - the facelift dashboard uses the same integrated design as the pre-facelift Mk5 and is not built for repeated disassembly.

S/N Patterns and Prefixes
The 2024 Renault Clio radio serial prefixes:
BP####– Blaupunkt radio serial (standard)CC####– Continental radio serialPH####– Philips radio serialPR####– Other Renault OEM format
The serial is found on the radio unit. Don't confuse it with the Renault part number.
Typical Radio Serial Prefixes and Formats
- Serial format is set by the head unit manufacturer rather than the vehicle. The 2024 Clio facelift fits two distinct head unit families and the chassis label format varies between them.
- EASY LINK units (7-inch and 9.3-inch) - alphanumeric serial of mixed letters and digits, labelled S/N or Serial on the chassis sticker. Typical length is in the 8 to 14 character range.
- OpenR Link unit (Google built-in) - alphanumeric serial on the chassis label, also labelled S/N or Serial. Exact prefix patterns for this newer hardware are not publicly catalogued in detail, so treat the labelled S/N field as authoritative.
- Do not submit the part number, hardware revision code, or production barcode in place of the serial. Only the field tagged S/N or Serial is valid.
- Re-check 0 versus O, 1 versus I, and 8 versus B before submission, regardless of which head unit is fitted.
Troubleshooting Common Radio Problems - Clio 2024
Entering the unlock code on Renault passenger car radios relies on the preset station buttons to build the code digit by digit.
- Button 1 sets the first digit — each press cycles from 0 to 9.
- Button 2 controls digit 2, button 3 digit 3, button 4 digit 4.
- After setting all digits, hold down button 5, button 6, or the Enter / AM-FM button to submit the entry.
Note: Newer Renault models with a MediaNav touchscreen use a touchscreen code entry pad. Tap the digits on the on-screen number pad. The touchscreen confirms automatically.
The screen reads "WAIT" / "SAFE" after 3 wrong code attempts, blocking further input until the timer runs down.
How to reset it: Turn the ignition to ON and leave it there for a full 60 minutes. Turning the ignition off starts the wait again from the beginning. This is particularly important — the timer does not pause, it restarts.
With Renault vehicles, battery drain during a long wait is possible. Run the engine or use a battery maintainer where practical to keep voltage stable.
When the radio does not accept your code, work through the following before making another attempt.
- Verify the serial prefix: Renault radios use serials starting with BP, CC, PH, or PR. Make sure you entered the full serial from the radio label — not the vehicle part number or chassis number.
- Look for digit confusion: On worn or faded labels, characters are easily confused. Photograph the label and zoom in.
- Entry method: Each press of a preset button advances the digit by one. Pressing too quickly can skip over the correct digit. Press deliberately and count. Only confirm once all four digits are correct.
If it keeps failing? Contact us with your serial number and we'll check and reissue if needed.
Finding the serial on Renault radios can be found on a sticker on the rear or side of the radio unit, only visible once the radio is pulled forward.
- What to look for: Look for a string beginning with BP, CC, PH, or PR followed by 8–10 alphanumeric characters.
- If the label is hard to read: Labels on higher-mileage vehicles are sometimes worn. Photograph under good light and zoom in — detail is easier to read in a zoomed image.
- How to access the serial: Pin-release extraction tools fit all Renault radios. Insert into the release slots on each side and pull forward.
Never submit the VIN or a part number — they are not the radio serial and will generate the wrong result.
If the radio powers on without prompting for a code, work through these steps:
- Force the code prompt: Pull the radio fuse briefly, reconnect, and power up the radio. The radio should then request the code.
- Check if already unlocked: When all functions work normally without restriction, it is already unlocked. You do not need to do anything.
- On MediaNav touchscreen versions: MediaNav does not show a code prompt the same way. Check Settings → System for unlock or serial options.
- Some units need ACC or ON: Some Blaupunkt/Philips units may only show the code prompt when the ignition is in ACC or ON. Check both positions.
Why Did the Radio Lock and Ask for a Code?
Battery replacement is the number one reason for a locked radio on Renault vehicles, but there are a few others worth knowing:
- Battery replacement: The most frequent cause by far on Renaults. The lock activates any time 12V power is interrupted. It catches many owners off-guard, even during a very short disconnect.
- Second-hand purchase: The original code is seldom included when a car changes hands. Private sellers and dealers often do not have it.
- Discharged battery: A completely flat battery activates the lock on reconnection or recharge.
- Service disconnect: Service that disconnects the battery — including an MOT, tyre change, or oil change — can trigger the lock.
